As Seen On WCTV
Food particles are naturally attracted to a tooth's enamel by a certain protein. Products like coffee, tea, berries and soy sauce are notorious for staining teeth. Over time, teeth actually become more absorbent and vulnerable to staining from food and other substances. An intrinsic stain is caused by traumatic injuries, medications and fluorosis. It actually occurs inside the tooth; BRUSHING AND FLOSSING DON’T HELP. Extrinsic stains are more easily resolved by brushing, flossing and rinsing caused by external factors, such as, food and drinks. Some commercially available "whitening toothpastes" can be somewhat effective at removing stains and making teeth a few shades brighter. However, many of these products have abrasive substances that can actually wear away your tooth's enamel.
Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.
Before development of dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth. Implants are anchored to the jawbone or metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures.
Veneers are thin porcelain covering that is bonded to the front surface of your tooth. This procedure allows the Doctor and you to determine the size, shape, and color of your teeth. While veneers can be done on all of your front teeth for that perfect "Hollywood" smile, sometimes just one or two veneers can easily eliminate flaws and imperfections resulting in a confident smile.
If you want to look better, and feel better, we will help you by sharing our knowledge about current procedures using implants, veneers, tooth whitening, periodontal therapy, and many other preventive and cosmetic restorations. Then we will work with you to help select the form of treatment that will restore your oral health, and discuss the responsibilities you have for the daily care of your teeth.
